A Royal Navy Lieutenant Commander was discovered dead in Wiltshire last month.
38-year-old Richard Smith’s body was located in his accommodation at a military camp in Upavon on 26 October, Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner’s Court heard.
A neighbour became concerned for his welfare and entered his address – where he found him unresponsive upstairs. Emergency services attended, but Lt Cdr Smith was pronounced dead.
His cause of death was asphyxiation and the inquest was adjourned to a date to be fixed.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
