A woman’s suffered suspected serious injuries in a crash in East Wiltshire this morning.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance landed near the scene of the two-car collision on the A338 between Great Bedwyn and Shalbourne at around 10am.
Fire crews from Wiltshire stations, assisted by Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service, worked to free the woman casualty from a blue Audi which had left the road on impact with a Jaguar.
A Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “At 10.30am this morning (21/07) we were called to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A338 near Great Bedwyn and Shalbourne.
“It involved a green Jaguar and a blue Audi. The driver of the Audi, a woman in her 40s, has been taken to Southampton Hospital by land ambulance with suspected serious injuries.
“The section of road is currently closed while we deal with the scene.”
