A road through a forest near Marlborough has been closed after a collision on Monday night.

Emergency services are attending the crash whereby a vehicle has hit a tree on the A346 through Savernake Forest — it happened at around 10.30pm.

“The road is completely blocked in both directions”, a police spokesperson said.

Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that no one was trapped in the vehicle and there were no injuries.

Police are advising road users to avoid the area, but it’s thought the road will reopen before 1am.
