A large number of firefighters are battling a major blaze in Swindon this morning.
Fire crews raced to the tackle the flames at a reclaimed timber yard off Kingsdown Road, near Kingsdown Crematorium, at around 1.30am.
The road has been closed in both directions to allow emergency service to work.
The fire service says the blaze is being battled using multiple breathing apparatus wearers using main jets and hose reel jets.
Firefighters from stations in the Swindon area have been in attendance overnight, but crews from Royal Wootton Bassett, Calne and Ramsbury remain at the scene as daylight beckons.
“We currently have fire crews in attendance on the Tate Estate, Kingsdown Road, Kingsdown, Swindon”, a fire service spokesperson said.
Adding: “Kingsdown Road is currently closed and there is smoke in the area.”
