Road closed as 999 crews called to welfare concern in Trowbridge

Emergency services are dealing with a mental health incident in Trowbridge.

Police, armed response units, a fire service rope rescue unit and an ambulance are all in attendance at the incident in Mascroft Road.

It’s understood 999 crews responded to reports of a welfare concern shortly after 9.30am this morning.

A spokesperson for Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are on scene in support of a police incident, a crew from Melksham and a technical rescue team from Trowbridge are in attendance.”

Wiltshire Police say they are attending a “concern for the welfare of a man”.


UPDATE 1PM: In a statement released to Wiltshire 999s, Wiltshire Police confirmed the incident has been resolved, with one man taken to hospital with leg injuries.

The statement reads: “The incident at an address in Mascroft Road, Trowbridge, has now been resolved.

“A man in his 30s has been taken to the Royal United Hospital by ambulance for treatment for leg injuries. These are not believed to be life-changing or life-threatening.”
