Repairs force police vehicles out of station car park in Chippenham for seven weeks

Police officers based out of Monkton Park are being forced to park at the roadside while repair work is undertaken on their normal car park.

It comes after a lorry collided with one of the pillars on the entrance to the Chippenham located police station and council offices recently. It’ll remain closed for seven weeks, until 12 May.

MONKTON HILL IS OFF LIMITS

Motorists are being told to avoid the area while the work is being completed, and not to park on Monkton Hill as it’s a designated parking spot for marked police vehicles only.

Sgt Louis McCoy said: “Until the 12th May, Monkton Park is having some work done so the car park is closed and Monkton Hill is solely for marked police vehicles. It’s inconvenient but not forever.”
