Police are investigating after a red kite was shot in the Wiltshire countryside.
The bird of prey was found dead in Greenhill, south of Purton, at around 5pm on 4 February.
Red kites are protected under Schedule 1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, meaning it is a criminal offence to kill or injury them.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have dash cam footage taken from the area.
“If you can help, please contact us on 101 quoting log 54240019567.”
