Railway lines between Chippenham and Bath are blocked after a person was hit by a train.
Emergency services were called to the scene in the Bath area at around 6am this morning (12 November).
The casualty is currently alive and being treated by medics.
Cancellations of services between Bath and Swindon are expected until at least 8am.
The service involved is the 5.10am GWR train between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington via Westbury.
In a statement on its website, GWR wrote: “Due to a person hit by a train between Bath Spa and Chippenham all lines are blocked.
“Train services running through these stations will be cancelled or delayed. Disruption is expected until 08:00 12/11.”
The following bus services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Arrangements have been made for Great Western Railway rail tickets to be accepted for these journeys:
