Firearms officers from Wiltshire Police are warning residents to stay indoors and lock their homes following a serious incident in north Swindon.

Police officers were called to a serious  incident in the Redhouse area at around 10pm late yesterday night, 12 July.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We received a call at 9.45pm on Wednesday, July 12, to reports of a man with a firearm in the Blunsdon St Andrew area of Swindon.

“Armed officers responded and carried out a full search of the area and spoke to the individual concerned – however nothing suspicious was discovered and no further action is needed from police.”
