Police were called to the Royal Mail Delivery Office in Swindon this morning, after someone was caught ‘chucking parcels from a lorry over the fence’.
Four police vehicles swooped on a getaway car on Liden Drive – smashing the windows and reportedly arresting the driver – at around 9.20am, Wednesday 27 September.
One of the 999 cars in attendance was an Tri-force armed response vehicle.
A source, who wants to remain anonymous, said: “Someone was chucking parcels from the back of a Royal Mail lorry over a nearby fence, to an accomplice on the other side.
“The lorry was parked near the fuel pumps at the time.
“They were spotted, police were called and manage to stop the car and recover the stolen parcels. It could have been in inside job, but I’m not 100 percent sure.”
According to a witness, a woman wearing only her bra was dragged from the suspect car and placed in handcuffs.
