A man’s car has been seized for forensic examination after a woman suffered a fractured skull in what police believe was a hit-and-run late on Monday evening.

Emergency services, including specialist critical care medics from Wiltshire Air Ambulance, Great Western Air Ambulance and SWIFT Medics, were called to the scene on County Road at around 9pm.

The casualty, in her 30s, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol by land ambulance, but hasn’t suffered any life-threatening or life-changing.
