Police searched a park after a man called 999 reporting he may have stabbed someone.
Officers responded to the concerning report in Trowbridge at around 9pm last night (Thursday, 5 July).
On arrival, in the County Hall area, they spoke with the waiting suspect – who told them that believes he may have stabbed someone during an altercation in Town Park.
The man, aged in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and taken to custody for questioning.
Meanwhile, officers and a dog unit carried out searches of the park for a knife and the victim. It is not yet known if they were located.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We are appealing for information following a disturbance in Trowbridge park last night.
“It is reported that a man was involved in an altercation with a group of people involving a knife.
