Police are searching for a driver who fled after a head-on crash near Corsham.
Emergency services were called to the road traffic collision in Silver Street, Gastard, at around 2.15pm this afternoon (Friday).
The dramatic smash involved a silver Volkswagen SUV and a blue pick-up truck, with both vehicles sustaining significant front-end damage in the impact.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that “one of the drivers involved appears to have left the scene on foot”, adding that “enquiries are ongoing to locate him”.
The force confirmed that nobody was seriously injured in the incident and no arrests have been made as yet.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service sent a crew from Chippenham to provide scene safety.
The road is currently (4pm) closed between Labrook Lane and Coppershell but is due to reopen shortly.
