Police officers rushed to Sainsbury’s in Chippenham following a report of shoplifting.

At least four units arrived at the supermarket in Bath Road with blue lights and sirens at around midday today (Thursday, 7 July).

They were responding to reports of shoplifting in progress.

However, the individuals identified as suspected shoplifters “left the store without having committed any crime”, according to Wiltshire Police.

Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made in relation to the incident.
