Emergency services are dealing with a welfare incident on an A419 bridge in Swindon.

Police were called to the scene on the Blunsdon Bypass at around 2.45pm today (Thursday, 3 November).

Two officers rushed over to the male, who appears in distress and on the wrong side of the fencing, and are now clinging to his clothing.

Attempts are being made to engage with the male and bring him to safety, though this could take a significant amount of time.

Traffic is expected to build in the area, including on the A419 – which is likely to be closed in both directions.
