Following the collapse of Lyneham Banks, a nearby road has been made one-way – but many motorists are ignoring the no-entry signs.

Roads policing officers from Wiltshire Police have been working to enforce the new rules for Clack Hill, Bradenstoke, which used to be a two-way route.

However, this morning (31 October), motorists are continuing to avoid a detour – despite the change taking place more than two weeks ago.

Officers have been issuing tickets to drivers who are ignoring the rules, but ‘fear they will run out of ink’ due to the number of offenders.

“[We] are currently enforcing a recently introduced NO ENTRY road, following residents concerns that the signage is being ignored!”, a spokesperson for the force’s Specialist Operations Unit said.

They added: “We may get low on ink!”
