A disaster was averted when police were called to a distressed man in Swindon last night.
Officers raced to reports of a suicidal person on one of the town centre’s multi-storey car parks at around 8pm yesterday (Thursday, 14 April).
On arrival, they found a man on the edge of the six-storey Brunel West car park in Farnsby Street.
The road was closed between Faringdon Road and Commercial Road whilst police attended.
The officers engaged with the man and managed to bring him to safety within 30 minutes.
Wiltshire Police confirmed they were called to “welfare concerns for an adult male”.
The force said he was in the responding officers’ care by 8.30pm.
