Police have launched an investigation after it’s believed a woman was spiked by injection at a nightclub in Swindon on New Year’s Day.

A 20-year-old woman was taken to hospital after feeling unwell and discovering a tiny puncture wound on her left in the early hours of the morning.

Now Wiltshire Police is probing the incident, officers are asking other victims to come forward to aid the investigation.

A spokesperson for the force said: “At around 2.50am (1 January 2022), a 20-year-old woman began to feel unwell and then found what appeared to be an injection mark on her leg.
“She was taken to hospital as a precaution.

“We are carrying out detailed enquiries, including obtaining CCTV and waiting for test results, to establish exactly what happened.

“We would encourage anyone who believes they have been the victim of spiking or have witnessed it to contact us on 101.

“Any reports of spiking will be investigated and taken seriously. If you have any information about this specific incident then please call 101.”
