A group of small dogs have been terrorizing residents in a Wiltshire town.
Wiltshire Police is investigating reports of four small breeds – including one believed to be a West Highland Terrier – being ‘out of control’ in Devizes.
The pets were reportedly seen to attempt to bite members of the public whilst out walking near the cricket field close to Drew’s Pond in Devizes.
Their owners, or handlers, on that occasion were believed to be two men and one female. They are all thought to be in their 60s.
“The dogs are described as being off their leads and running up to members of public attempting to bite them”, a spokesperson for the force said.
Adding: “Dog bites can be very serious and cause distress and discomfort to the injured person. Dogs dangerously out of control is an offence and if proven the handlers/ owners can face prosecution.”
