Police launch probe as boy, 17, found dead in village near Westbury

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager was found dead near Westbury.

999 crews raced to Lower Westbury Road in Bratton at around 1.30pm today (Monday) following reports of an unconscious casualty in the street.

Medics provided treatment, but the boy – aged 17 – was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wiltshire Police said the youngster’s death is not being treated as suspicious, but are thought to be working to establish the circumstances.

“His death is not being treated as suspicious and his next of kin have been informed”, a spokesperson said.

Adding: “Our thoughts are with his family at this incredibly sad time.

“If you have information that could help our enquiries please contact us on 101 quoting log number 185 of today’s date.”
