A mental health incident has closed a busy route in Swindon town centre.
Emergency services were called to reports of a person on the Brunel West multi-storey car park at around 6pm this evening (Monday).
It’s understood the person is in distress, and officers are concerned for their welfare.
As such, Farnsby Street is closed to both motorists and pedestrians, and people are being told to avoid the area.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “We are currently dealing with a mental health related incident at the Brunel car park in Swindon town centre.
“Farnsby Street is currently closed.
“We are urging people to avoid this area of the town centre whilst specially trained officers deal with the incident.
“Thank you for your patience.”
