A police officer was injured whilst attending an incident at a house in rural Wiltshire today.
This morning, officers responded to reports of a domestic disturbance in Ramsbury at around 8.30am where a woman was subsequently taken to hospital for minor injuries.
Shortly after their arrival at the scene in Knowledge Hill, one officer was forced to deploy their taser to apprehend a 40-year-old man before he was detained and arrested.
It’s thought officers had to enter the property via a front window when they arrived at the address. A pane of glass was seen laying on the floor of the front garden.
It’s believed a dozen police officers from across as far away as Swindon responded to calls for urgent assistance from their Ramsbury colleagues who initially attend the incident.
A forensic investigator arrived at the scene at around 12.30pm.
“One woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries and an officer also suffered injuries following the arrest of the suspect”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police commented.
Adding: “A 40-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this matter.”
