A police manhunt is underway in Westbury following a domestic assault.
Police, including armed officers, swarmed the area following the incident in Warminster Road at around 1pm today.
At 5pm, a heavy police presence – including police dog units – remained in the town as officers continued to search for the suspect involved.
A woman was injured in the incident but did not require hospital treatment.
Some local residents report having police officers searching their gardens, with officers patroling the streets on foot.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have been conducting enquiries in the Westbury area this afternoon to locate the suspect, who fled the scene as police were arriving. At this stage no arrests have been made.
“We don’t want people to be alarmed and there is nothing to suggest there is any risk to the wider public.”
