Police have launched an probe after a man was found unconscious outside his home.
Emergency services were called to Overbrook in Eldene at around 2am this morning (Friday).
The victim, aged in his 70s, was rushed to hospital for treatment and his nearby bungalow has been cordoned off as a crime scene ever since.
Police have not confirmed the man’s condition, but it is believed he sustained serious injuries.
Two forensic investigators were presence throughout today, alongside detectives, as they worked to gather evidence and establish what happened.
Between around 2-3am, officers knocked on the doors of local residents – waking many to ask if they had seen or heard anything, or if they have CCTV.
In a statement, Wiltshire Police said: “A man in his 70s was taken to hospital in the early hours this morning (21/06) after being found unconscious outside in Overbrook, Swindon.
“Detectives investigating the circumstances would like to hear from anyone who was in the area last night and may have seen anything suspicious.”
They added: “We would also like to hear from anyone who may have driven past and have dash cam footage or nearby householders who have ring doorbell camera recordings from last night.
