Police have cordoned off a Swindon road following a stabbing — as detectives launch an urgent investigation.
Emergency services swarmed Dulverton Avenue, in the area of Malmesbury Gardens, at around 6.50pm this evening (Thursday).
Several police vehicles were at the incident, alongside numerous ambulance resources — who took a man, aged in his 20s, to hospital with serious but not life-threatening wounds.
The road has been cordoned off as a crime scene, with forensic staff arriving on site at around 8.30pm to start gathering vital evidence.
The investigation appears to be focused around a bungalow. There are also a number of cones protecting evidence in the street.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “We have set up a cordon in Dulverton Avenue, Park North, following a stabbing.
“At around 6.50pm this evening, we received a report that a man in his 20s had suffered knife injuries in a serious assault.
“He has been taken to hospital with injuries which are not thought to be life-threatening.”
They added: “A scene has been put in place in Dulverton Avenue near Malmesbury Gardens and is likely to remain in place well into the night.
“Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries into the assault and residents are likely to see an increased police presence in the area while we investigate
