Police close off residential street in Swindon as bomb squad attend a property

Police have closed a residential street in Swindon this afternoon and have evacuated dozens of homes while the bomb squad attend an address.

Magnolia Court in Pinehurst is closed in both directions.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Pokice said: “At approximately 1pm today, we evacuated residents living within Magnolia Court, Pinehurst, Swindon, following the discovery of a suspicious item at an address.

”A room has kindly been provided within the local community centre for local residents during this time if required. [Explosive Ordinance Disposal] are currently in attendance.”
