The chief of Wiltshire Police has asked the public to contact the force if they know the name of the person responsible for smashing a charity shop window overnight.
It’s understood the attack on the SWA (Swindon Woman’s Aid) shop, in The Parade in Swindon town centre, happened at some point on Friday night or in the early hours of this morning.
On Twitter, Chief Constable Kier Pritchard commented: “We need information from the public, someone will know who is responsible. Names please via 101”.
The volunteer-run shop helps to fund the domestic abuse support service for both men and women.
Former High Sheriff, Nicky Alberry said: “We are upset that this happened to our charity shop. Not just all the clearing up, a new window we have lost lots of our stock as it was covered in glass splinters.”
The incident was labeled “mindless vandalism” by ITV newsreader Alex Lovell.
Anyone with information relating to this incident should contact Wiltshire Police by calling 101. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
