A police car was involved in a crash on a junction near the hospital in Swindon.
The road traffic collision happened on Marlborough Road, at the junction with Homington Avenue, at around 8.50am on Tuesday (26 November).
The incident involved a Wiltshire Police marked Vauxhall Astra response car and a blue Nissan Qashqai, driving by a member of the public.
Nobody was injured, but the road was partially blocked for around 30 minutes while specialist roads policing officers attended to assess the scene.
It’s understood both drivers were breathalysed as per standard practice – with negative results. No arrests were made.
Both vehicles – which sustained minor front-end damage – were moved at around 9.15am and details were exchanged.
It’s not known which driver was at fault.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed that “a marked police car on patrol was involved in a collision with a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction.”
They added: “There were no reported serious injuries.
“Any witnesses are asked to contact us on 101 quoting reference 54240139548.”
