Police are appealing for witnesses after two suspected arson attacks in Chippenham.

Aptly named Burnt Cottage in London Road is believed to have been targeted by an arsonist on two occasions – on 21 December and 10 January.

The home was renovated after nine years of sitting empty following a fire in 2013, but shortly after the work was completed it was partly destroyed in a blaze in an early morning blaze.

Three weeks later the property suffered significant damage in what’s believed to be another deliberate blaze on 21 December.

In a statement, a Wiltshire Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for witnesses following two suspected arson attacks on the same property in Chippenham within weeks.

“The property, 153 London Road, was significantly damaged in a fire on 21 December and most recently in the early hours of 10 January.

“Anyone with information about either of the incidents, or who may have dash cam footage is asked to call us on 101 quoting log 54220133574.

“Alternatively you can leave information anonymously on Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555111.”
