Police have attended a mental health incident at a Chippenham school today.

Emergency services responded to reports of a person suffering a mental health episode at around 11.30am this morning.

Police officers and paramedics were immediately sent to the incident at Sheldon School in Hardenhuish Lane, where they located the patient.

Wiltshire Police has confirmed the male was “taken to a place of safety where he can receive appropriate support”.

Hardenhuish Lane was partially blocked for a short time whilst emergency services attended the scene, with officers directing motorists around the vehicles.

All 999 responders left the scene shortly before 1pm.
