Wiltshire Police has issued advice ahead of this year’s Summer Solstice.
Thousands of people prepare to travel to Stonehenge and Avebury later this month – with sunrise is due at 4.52am on Sunday 21 June.
Officers say they are pleased to welcome visitors from around the world to the historic sites.
However, they are urging people to plan ahead to ensure the event is marked safely and responsibly.
English Heritage strongly advises people not to travel to Stonehenge by car.
Parking is limited and must be pre-booked via their website, with long queues expected for those who choose to drive.
A regular bus service will run from Salisbury city centre throughout the Summer Solstice period. There is ample public parking available in the city.
Police have warned that vehicles abandoned or parked on the A303 or nearby roads are likely to be towed away.
Further information about the event is available on the English Heritage website and its social media channels.
