The court has granted an application for a partial closure order on an address in Swindon.
PC Beth Vinnecombe applied to slap the restrictive order on a property in Southwick Avenue, Penhill, at Swindon Magistrates’ Court this morning (4 February).
She said Wiltshire Police has recently received reports of the occupant – a woman – grooming children for sexual purposes and drug exploitation.
PC Vinnecombe described the address as a “hotbed for children to go to”.
She also told of how the occupant is an alcoholic and Class A drug user.
Magistrates granted the order for three months.
This means anyone – except those named on the order – caught at the address faces arrest and prosecution.
Emergency services, care workers and other professionals will still be able to attend the property as usual, but her partner – also an alcoholic – has been banned.
