An ‘old man’ is wanted by police after a child was bitten by a dog outside Tesco.

The incident happened outside the Express store on Harrier Place in Calne on 29 August.

At around 8.10am, a child was reportedly bitten on the leg by a dog tied up outside.

The child was taken to hospital for treatment, having sustained minor injuries.

Officers investigating the attack want to identify the owner – who is said to be an “older man”.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Do you recognise this dog? We would like to trace the dog and speak to its owners following reports of a dog bite to a child’s leg.

“The owner is believed to be an older man.
