One person’s been hospitalised following a crash in the Wiltshire countryside.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision involving two cars on Rushall Road in North Newnton, near Pewsey, shortly after 7am this morning (Friday).
Wiltshire Police said that the vehicles involved were a BMW and a Ford Fiesta. A witness claimed that one of the vehicles involved overturned in a field during the incident.
Fire crews from Marlborough and Devizes were sent to the scene following reports that a one person was mechanically trapped within one of the vehicles.
They were extricated by firefighters and treated by local ambulance crews and doctor, before being rushed to Salisbury District Hospital for further treatment.
The casualty’s condition is unknown. However, it’s believed they sustained serious but not life-changing or life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed between the A342 and The Woodbridge Inn roundabout for approximately five hours whilst 999 responders attended.
