A man has died after emergency services were called to a rural Wiltshire village.
Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance was scrambled to an address in Manningford Bruce at around 7.45pm on New Year’s Day (1 January).
The helicopter touched down in a field off an unnamed road north of the village, as critical care medics raced to provide urgent treatment.
Working with local ambulance crews, they battled to save the life of man.
Despite the best efforts, the casualty – who was aged in his 70s – was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
Wiltshire Police also attended the incident. A spokesperson confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
