A new driver has ploughed their car side-on into a tree at the roadside in Highworth.
Emergency services were called to a road traffic collision on the B4000 Shrivenham Road at around 5pm this afternoon (Friday).
Several fire crews attended the incident and it’s believed there were required to extricate two people from the wreckage.
Both casualties were rushed to hospital with injuries. The severity of their wounds is unknown at this stage.
A spokesperson for the Roads Policing Unit at Wiltshire Police said: “[We] dealt with this RTC near Highworth today.
“The driver has only held a licence for 3 weeks!!
”We wish the driver and passenger all the best for a full recovery.
