A dog-walker thought she’d stumbled on a murder scene – but discovered the ‘body’ was a blow-up inflatable adult doll.
Gina Penman Dearing was with spaniel Siggy when she came across what looked like a body lying in the mud in ‘Ladder Lane’, off Pipers Way in Swindon.
She initially thought something horrendous had happened but soon realised that it was a deflated blow-up doll that had been abandoned.
Gina said: “I thought I’d come across a murder scene.
“There’s an old bridge that takes you to Ladder Lane (it’s nickname I think).
“It was on a very muddy path next to the field where bikes were used.
“I could Siggy was sniffing something and thought, it was just a bag of rubbish until I got near and it took me a while to figure it out.”
This is not the first time that Siggy has sniffed out a questionable object while out on a walk.
In August 2022, Gina was walking her two dogs Siggy and Billie when then six-month-old Siggy found a rubber sex toy.
