A motorcyclist has been killed in a head-on crash with a van near Avebury.
999 crews were called to the two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A4361 at Winterbourne Monkton at around 8am this morning (Friday).
A Kawasaki motorcycle travelling northbound impacted a Ford Transit Custom travelling in the opposite direction.
The rider, a man aged in his 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.
A full-scale forensic collision investigation is ongoing – with the road expected to remain closed until late this evening.
In an earlier statement, Wiltshire Police said closures were in place on the A4361 between Beckhampton Roundabout and Broad Hinton.
