A motorcyclist was killed in a crash involving three cars near Trowbridge.
Emergency services were called the A361 in Rode, Somerset, following reports of a serious road traffic collision at around 5pm yesterday (Sunday, 3 September).
A motorcycle and three cars – a Kia Kona, an Audi A4 and a VW T-Cross – were involved.
Several motorists rushed to his aid, as did police officers and later Wiltshire Air Ambulance medics – but the biker, a 51-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident happened near the former Bell pub in Rode, resulting in the major route’s closure for collision investigation work until 3am this morning (Monday).
An Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time.
“They are being offered support by a specially trained family liaison officer.
