A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash last night (Wednesday, 23 August).
Emergency services were called to the scene in B4005 Wharf Road, near Swindon, at about 9pm.
It involved an Audi estate and a motorcycle on a sharp bend at the entrance to Wharf Farm. The motorcycle ended up in a ditch hidden by undergrowth.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed in a nearby field so the charity’s critical care team could tend to the injured biker – a man aged in his 50s.
He was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are not described as life-changing or life-threatening.
The occupants of the Audi – which sustained front-end damage – were checked over by paramedics and discharged at the scene.
The road was closed until approximately midnight, reopening after vehicle recovery work.
Wiltshire Police confirmed that no arrests were made in connection with the incident.
