A motorcyclist has died after colliding with a car near Highworth this morning.
At approximately 11.40am we responded to the road traffic collision on the B4019 at the junction for Hannington involving a Piaggio Scooter and a Lexus.
The 47-year-old male driver of the scooter was pronounced dead at the scene, despite the efforts of local ambulance crews and two air ambulance medics.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “His next of kin have been informed and our thoughts are with them at this tragic time.
“The road was closed for several hours and reopened at approximately 6pm and our investigation continues.
“If you have any information regarding the collision, please call 101 and quote log number 103 of Wednesday 2 June.”
