A motorcyclist has been rushed to hospital following a road traffic collision on the A4.
Emergency services were called to the incident on the main route near Silbury Hill at around 9.30am this morning (Tuesday, 20 September).
A motorcycle was involved in a crash with a lorry (LGV), with saw debris strew across the road.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance landed near the scene, allowing its team of critical care paramedics to provide treatment to the male biker alongside local ambulance crews.
He sustained a significant injury to his ankle and was taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The occupants of the lorry, which stained minor damage, were uninjured.
The road has been closed in both directions between Beckhampton and West Overton since the incident occurred but is expected to reopen by 12pm.
