A motorbike crash in Royal Wootton Bassett left the rider injured in heavy rain for three hours.
Emergency services were called to Brinkworth Road following reports of a road traffic collision at around 6.15pm on Wednesday evening (16 October).
The incident, which happened at the junction for Gerard Buxton Sports Ground, involved a car and a motorcycle that was displaying L-plates.
The rider, believed to be a young man, sustained a broken wrist, cuts and scrapes, and was taken to hospital by ambulance sometime after 9pm.
It’s understood the road closure was in place for several hours due to a lack of ambulance availability – leaving the casualty injured on the ground.
Members of the public provided first aid and assisted in keeping the man as dry as possible.
