Mother’s warning after ‘cheap’ phone charger destroys family home

A mother has issued a warning to others following a gutting fire in her daughter’s bedroom – caused by her using an unofficial iPhone charger.

Jacqui Dye’s 13-year-old daughter work in the middle of night to use the bathroom, and on her return discovered that her pillow and duvet ablaze.

The top floor of the family’s home was destroyed by the fire and it’s reported that the family will be unable to return home for about three months.

Jacqui, from Exeter, is warning others to avoid ‘cheap’ unofficial mobile phone chargers.

“I would just urge people to buy original ones or use the proper one provided, don’t have them on at night or on soft furnishings.”
