A mother and her three young children have been killed in a house fire.
The emergency services were called to a house Rosamond Street in Bolton, Greater Manchester, at around 9am this morning, following reports of a fire.
A child was pronounced dead at the scene, while its mother and two siblings were rushed to hospital where they sadly died.
A man – who is now in a stable condition in hospital – is said to have escaped the fire in the property by jumping from the upstairs window onto the pavement below.
Detective Chief Inspector Chris Bridge said: “These are utterly heart-breaking circumstances and our thoughts go out to anyone affected by this tragic incident.”
He confirmed that the fire service are working alongside the police to establish the circumstances around the blaze, however it’s not being treated as suspicious.
