Two people have been arrested following a stabbing in Melksham this afternoon (Friday).
Emergency services were called an address off High Street in the vicinity of the Old Stable House in High Street at around 3.15pm after a reported disorder.
Several ambulance service vehicles – including the Wiltshire Air Ambulance rapid response car – were in attendance alongside around six police units.
A woman, aged in her 20s, sustained knife injuries and was taken to Royal United Hospital in Bath for further treatment.
Despite the significant 999 response, her injuries are “not believed to be serious”, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police confirmed.
A woman, aged in her 30s, and a man, aged in his 40s, were arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm and remain in custody for questioning.
Melksham CID are understood to be leading the investigation.

“Police were called to an address off the High Street in Melksham shortly after 3.15pm today following a report of a disorder.
“A woman in her 20s was taken to the Royal United Hospital with injuries not believed to be serious.
“A woman in her 30s and a man in his 40s who are believed to be known to the victim have been arrested on suspicion of GBH in connection with the incident and they remain in custody at this time.
“Enquiries are ongoing.”
