A Melksham man has been sentenced for stalking his ex-girlfriend at various shops – and even as she attended an appointment at the hospital.
Ben Croucher previously pleaded guilty to the offence, and returned to Swindon Magistrates’ Court to be sentenced on 29 April.
The 37-year-old defendant, of Coronation Road, admitted stalking the woman by turning up at Lidl, Argos, Waitrose, the community hospital and more.
The offending took place on numerous occasions between November 2024 and 22 January 2025.
Croucher was sentenced to a 12-month community order, and must complete 20 rehabilitation activity days with the probation service.
He was also fined £70, and told to pay prosecution costs of £85 and a court surcharge of £114 – which he will pay at £20 per month through deductions of his benefits.
The court made a restraining order, prohibiting the defendant from contacting his victim directly or indirectly for two years. He’s also banned from entering her street.
