UPDATE: Chippenham man found dead ‘overdosed on bad batch of heroin’
A man’s body has been discovered in a copse on a main road in Chippenham.
Emergency services were called to B4069 Maud Heath’s Causeway at around 11am this morning (Sunday) following a call from a member of the public.
Police located a man’s body at the location and the area, between Cocklebury Lane and Saxby Road, was cordoned off whilst detectives attended the scene.
Four police vehicles, an ambulance and an ambulance rapid response vehicle were parked on the route as the incident was dealt with.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “Following a report from a member of the public, officers attended an area of land adjacent to Pew Hill in Chippenham, shortly after 11am today (13/08).
“Sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
They added: “Although further enquiries are ongoing, this is currently being treated as a non-suspicious incident.
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family and friends.”
