Officers attempted to stop a silver van in the car park near KFC, off Bath Road, at around 12.45pm this afternoon (Friday).

It followed concerns about the driver potentially driving while under the influence of an illegal substance.

The driver made off and a pursuit was authorised along Bath Road, where the vehicles was driven dangerously – before crashing into several vehicles on Hungerdown Lane.

The driver failed to stop after the collisions, and continued on towards the A350 before being involved in a further collision on A420 Bristol Road.

Wiltshire Police are “urgently” appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage relevant to the incident.

A spokesperson said: “Enquiries are currently ongoing.

“Please could we urge anyone with information in relation to the pursuit, or the collisions, including any CCTV or dash cam footage which could assist, to get in touch.
