A man and woman have been arrested ‘for possessing a firearm’ in Melksham.
Armed officers descended on Rosemary Way at around 5pm yesterday (Monday, 4 September).
Local residents claim several officers carrying rifles and wearing ballistic helmets raided a property whilst a drone was flown above it.
Wiltshire Police has confirmed that two people – a man and woman both aged in their 20s – were arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
They remain in custody for questioning and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
